Little Italy, New York City.  Little Italy is an ever shrinking neighborhood. One only needs to step one block east of Mulberry to witness the lively atmosphere...of Chinatown. Little Italy is flanked by Center Street to the west, by Bowery to the east, by Broome to the north and by Canal to the south. It's hard to describe the locals simply because you will have a hard time finding them here. Theoretically, something like 10,000 live in Little Italy, but the neighborhood is simply overrun by tourists.

There are literally dozens of restaurants on the three blocks of Mulberry street stretching from Canal to Broome, but most of them are obvious tourist traps.

To better get a sense of location on where Little Italy is at, it is located in the more popular Lower East Side neighborhood. If small, Loud, Touristy, Kitschy is not what you would consider a place to live, then Little Italy is not for you. It is like Lower East Side's version of Hoboken, tourist wise.
